I still remember on my summer vacation from school as a kid , I guess I was 8 or 9 years old living in Scarborough in the late 1960s … My mother worked for Dominion grocery stores which are now called Metro.. She had Tuesdays off and always dragged my with her on the bus to Shoppers World on the Danforth where she would spend most of the day shopping .. I distinctly remember there was a restaurant in the middle of the mall where we had lunch , they had great hot dogs and fries 👌.. I think about those days now and in some ways I wish I could go back 😊🤷‍♂️

Moss Park has always been a notorious neighbourhood going back many years. Those handsome architectural houses were once the proud homes of wealthy families considering the size. Just the same, the streets appear to be well kept by the city. Compared to US cities no doubt!

It's always a good idea to go to these police museums to get a good idea f how policing was back from its inception to currently. it does make the citizens have a really good understanding of how it was in terms of law enforcement back then.

The new north market is getting closer to completion. It's expected to officially open in the near future and it will house the farmers market (Saturdays) and the antique/vintage market Sunday Variety (Sunday).

Unfortunately, I had the privilege of staying at "The Don", it scared the hell out me. It was no "Palace". Three to a cell, I was last in a cell and had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. Thank goodness they shut it down 20 yrs after my short stay.

I don’t know why I’m just finding this now! My parents grew up around there; my dad graduated high school in ‘56 and my mom ‘62 & even back then it was a tough area. At that time it was mostly alcoholism & domestic issues. Neither of my parents came from good homes but they raised me very well. I go through their neighborhoods today with pride in knowing they made it through that & worked hard. My life could’ve been a lot worse.

All the beautiful old houses on Sherbourne ..... Jarvis, Sherbourne and Church streets were among the wealthiest and posh neighbourhoods in old Toronto 100+ years ago.

I used to live in the building next to the church. Used to hear shootings at night and once saw one in the side yard of that church. I was standing on my balcony on the 2 1st floor. Used to walk to Wellesley hospital. My 1st job after graduation. Stayed 3 weeks and moved west to Mississauga. Jarvis wasn't much better.
